Getting there - Lake Bohinj is easily accessible by bus (about one runs per hour each way, fewer on Sunday) - not an awful lot of room for parking cars. By bus - I would recommend taking the bus to Bohinj Ukanc (the last stop!)...More

Marvelous lake, much less comercialised than Bled and thus more authentic. Great place to relax and take a stroll while enjoying stunning scenery and some great fresh air.

Visited by train from Bled Jezero station which is about a 15 minute train journey to Bobinjska Bistrica and the a 15 minute bus or taxi journey to the lake. Trains costs €3.70 return. Please be aware than the trains arrival does not fit in...More

If you plan to visit Slovenia you have to visit Bled and Bohinj. It is very easy to reach Bohinj from Bled. We took the bus from Bled and we spent all the day in Bohinj. We rent a bike for the day. Very rwasonable...More

There are ticks in Bohinj of course. Oh hikes: wear appropriate clothes and some spray that ticks do not like, after the hike you should examine yourself and take a shower. Because the answers here do not allow url's, look... More

Slovenia was quite green when we visited last September. I suspect October would be a better time to catch the leaves changing colour.
