Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This fort was built in the narrowest part of the valley to defend against the Italian invaders. Just a short detour from the main highway, we walked around the fort and looked over the deep gorge from the bridge. Make sure and note the iron ladder rungs that climb up the side of the rocks opposite the fort. They served as an escape route for the soldiers.

An imposing sight when you round the corner and see it for the first time. Stunning location in a saddle half-way up Mt.Rombon, and the museum inside details the fascinating history in the Middle Ages and during WW1. Close to Fort Hermann.

We decided to visit Fort Kluze in the morning, took a 50 km drive from Most na Soci. Take the road to Bovec and from Bovec take the Perdil direction, and you will reach the fort in 5 kms. The fort is immediately on the right side of the road. Before the fort there is a Kluze kayak, raft parking, do not be miskead, its not the fort you need to continue driving for another 350 m. However, I suggest to stop by and descend to the Kal Koritnica river, its really nice, and its a pleasant walk down and up the path. The fort Kluze is renovated, it hosts a museum and a bar, it costs 3 EUR to visit. I did not visit as a storm was approaching and I wanted to climb up the Hill to Fort Hermann.

museum part was closed when I went but wandering around outside was still impressive. Especially the tunnel/cave system across the street...it was worth the drive and the stop to check it out.

We made a brief stop here en route to Bovec on a Julian Alps excursion.
No time to visit the museum inside which was a pity but the dramatic nature of the surroundings and the fort itself are pretty memorable.
Strategically it's fantastic because on the way back you couldn't actually see the fort until it was 'too late'.
Look out for the 'Mula tierra' used to get supplies up the mountain and the iron steps/rods used to access the other fortress nearby.
In the First World War more than a million casualties in this area alone . It must have been particularly inhospitable in winter .

Visuted this place today, an impresive fort guarding a bridge-river crossing. The entrence fee is laughable(3€ for an adult 1€ for children) giving you acces to the impresive fort interiour. There is a small exhibition, some relics, and a short history about the fort, which changed ovnership numerous times..
All in all a great activit for a easy day..or rain..

I haven't visited fort Kluze for more then 15 years. Then there were only ruins. Now the fort is rebuilt, renewed with a museum and a bar for drinks. I was very pleasantly surprised. Great fort, with so much history, greta location. It is really worth visit.

While on a recent visit to Slovenia I visited Fort Kluze in the Soca Valley. The fort is beautifully restored and holds a vast amount of memorabilia from WW1 with explanatory videos giving the history of the area. One sobering piece of info. was that one million men lost their lives in the valley. A must visit for anyone interested in war history.

A restored fort with information about the war throughout the area. Cost of admission is 3 Euro. Worth a short stop but better to cross over to Fort Hermann.

Drove past here but had to turn around and come back for a quick look. An impressive fort guarding the river. Quite a daunting place to look around. Wish we had had more time to explore. Also found the small shaft were some unfortunate Italians were gassed during the war.
