I hiked up to the fort and was not disappointed by the effort. The view from the fort is nice and you can explore the trench and a small cave below the road leading to the fort. It's worth a moment to contemplate the people who were defending the pass, what they watched for and how difficult it must have... More

I have driven past this so many times without stopping and I am glad I took the time to stop this time, 3 Euro admission for an interesting insight into the history.

We decided to visit Fort Kluze in the morning, took a 50 km drive from Most na Soci. Take the road to Bovec and from Bovec take the Perdil direction, and you will reach the fort in 5 kms. The fort is immediately on the right side of the road. Before the fort there is a Kluze kayak, raft parking,... More

We stopped by here for an half hour and found it brought the sometimes turbulent history of the area in to context. From my part of the world this is not the type of battle setting for WW1 that we think of. However, this area was central to more of the events that anybody would wish to be and this... More

I haven't visited fort Kluze for more then 15 years. Then there were only ruins. Now the fort is rebuilt, renewed with a museum and a bar for drinks. I was very pleasantly surprised. Great fort, with so much history, greta location. It is really worth visit.

We stopped here partway through a walk. The cafe was a welcome sight then we decided to have a look around the museum. For a couple of euros entry there was a lot of information including artefacts, video displays and translated information explaining the history of the area and of the fort - not just form ww1 and 2 but... An imposing fort which became a key part of the Austro-Hungarian defense of the area in WW1. A very strategic location - with some nice wooded countryside around with great views of the surrounding valleys. A nice cafe which offers cold drinks for hot walkers !

This is a very cool WWI site. The drive up to the area is beautiful and the surrounding mountains are awesome. Incredible history took place here.
