I spent some time in this magnificent cathedral and was impressed by the lavish Baroque design. The doors are of solid bronze and were created to commemorate the visit to the cathedral of Pope John Paul II. The church is filled with splendid baroque side altars, impressive statuary, and chandeliers. And the immense Baroque ceiling by Giulio Quaglio the elder... More

We visited just last Saturday. The market is nearby and so is the castle. A visit to all three on a Saturday is a perfect day. This cathedral is spectacular.

Was given a private view of the 16th century seminary library which is unique for its collection which has survived intact war, fire and earthquake.

St. Nicholas Cathedral is located near central market and town hall. It has a green dome and twin towers, very important are two astonishing entrance doors. The interioir is impressive, the ceiling is spectacular. The entrance is free, the church is closed between 12am till 3pm.

Definitely not to be missed! The Interior is spectacular and the history captivating. Locals were lined up to see the very interesting brass doors.

This is a lovely church and is very serene. However, the most alluring part of the structure are the doors by which you enter, which are hugely decorated and ornate.

A very fine building well worth a visit. We went in during a guided tour of the City. It had been well adorned for Christmas with a nice nativity scene.

A Baroque pleasure in the old town section of Ljubljana, Slovenia. The cathedral ceiling is reminiscent of Pozzo's work in Rome. Well worth a visit.
