Ljubljana´s old town is very small compared to other major cities I have visited in Europe, but despite that it is extremely charming with its several bars and restaurants along Ljubljanica river, many sculptures and pictoresque buildings. This part of the city is very clean, and you can see that Slovenians take pride in their beautiful capital. Most attractions are... More

It's a beautiful place. I went on a Sunday, which, keep in mind that every store will be closed:(. Nonetheless, it had a great relaxing atmosphere with canals and friendly locals. On sundays, there is a interesting flea market. Not too much to see, but great for strolls!

I highly recommend spending a day in the old city. I had 1 day and 2 nights and was able to see a majority of the city, main bridges, churches, parks and the castle. The old city is very safe and has a mix of great scenes over the river bridges along with monuments, shops, bars, lounges and souvenirs places.... More

I was in spring so the weather was lovely and the days were bright and shinny. The old town is not very big and has the feeling of small fairy town. It doesn't feel that much touristy even there were quite a number of tourist. It is a city which has not yet lost its innocence to big city change.

I loved my visit to Ljubljana- lots of highlights flanking the river. Just wander and find it for yourself or do the fantastic walking tour costing €20 and lasting 3 hours from the tourist office. This includes a ride on the funicular to the castle, tea and biscuit in the fab library and entry to chief architect Plecnik's house.

Great town, nice restaurants, good ice creams, cool shops, musicians in the evening, good place to explore the country given the small size. Very laid back, great with kids!

A nice city, a real pleasure to walk the old city center. I walked the old town streets in the wvenjng and it had a real victorian-type experience to it. Will recommend to my friends.
