I went to Metelkova really early in the morning to enjoy the quietness and really see the artistic part of it. It was incredibly quiet and that allowed me to spend time indulging in the shapes, colours, crazy forms, never ending imagination and sense of fun. I loved every bit of it.

Visit Metelkova cause it is stunning and surprisingly good part of the city! So much art on so small place! Great place for drinking and hanging out! Cheap price on beer in bars. Cool architecture and very close to train and bus station of Ljubljana! You should visit it!

This is an autonomous, liberal squat situated in a former military barracks of the former Yugoslav National Army. It has become a commune that has become the focal point of the city's alternative cultural scene with live music in the evenings, theatre and art all around a maze of bars and canteens. It is deserted in the daytime! Reminded us... More

Unfotunatly we visited only in the morning. That's why nobody was there, except from few guys who were drinking and didn't seem to me very friendly. The decoration and the art which is there is amazing. But in the morning you can only take a walk. I think the best way to visited is with a native

if you are in Ljubljana, you have to see this. it is a totally different area with lots of alternative things, you cna walk through it during the day. during the night there always a lot of people and you even have some clubs and bars where you can go to. its worth a visit. and its free of course.

Great place for meeting alternative folks and getting away from more mainstream bars in the city centre. Cheap drinks and cool people, well worth checking out!

Technically an illegal squat on an old army base, but is general more accepted and legit than Rog just down the road. Went here a couple of times so soak up the atmosphere by day and night, and take in the street art. I get the impression it's pretty busy some nights but best to check it out first as... More

This is so cool and original! Its like stepping into a different world. So much creativity and colour to admire. Definitely worth a visit even though it is slightly out of the way from the city centre

This place is just awesome. Photos of this permanent art squat brought me to the city of Ljubljana, and being there stole my heart forever. It's exciting with something always going on, a complete immersion into alternative culture, and there's cool, interesting art everywhere. Even though I was there while all the students were away for the summer (apparently it... More
