About
Here at CurioCity we are not such a fan of the typical tour. We focus less on the buildings and landmarks, and more on the people living here and their stories. Your visit shouldn't just be about sightseeing- Ljubljana should be seen, touched, smelled, heard and tasted. This is where we come in. We believe that bigger isn’t always better, so our groups are always kept small and intimate. Experiences should be less like “tours”, and more like real-life human-beings exploring a city together, seeing the side of Ljubljana that often remains undiscovered by tourists At CurioCity we won’t: Bore you with excessive facts and figures and obsess over dead people, Repeat the same old scripted tours over and over and over, no matter who’s in the group, Or use a flag on a stick to herd you around Ljubljana. But we promise: We will show you Ljubljana like we, the locals, see it We will tailor your experience to suit you as best as we can. No two tours will be exactly the same. We will reveal interesting stories from our capital city, and the people living here. We believe that it’s our responsibility, as locals, to help this city thrive so we’ve decided to run CurioCity as a non-profit organisation. We are privileged to know local, independent social businesses, who are so often missed by passing tourists. When you book with us you directly support these locals. You can make memories on our walks, while making a real difference here in Ljubljana. This is how we do it. Run by locals, supporting locals, creating locals. As our slogans says: "Arrive as a tourist, leave as a local."

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Wow! I was blown away by the CurioCity walking tour of Ljubljana. Having previously lived in Slovenia and visited on many occasions, I thought that I was already clued up on all of the points of interest. However, the Social Ljubljana tour really provides an insight into some of the sustainable, ethical and responsible aspects of community and business life of this beautiful city. Dragan provided us with lots of thoughtful and poignant information, but always in a way that was friendly and accessible. We ate and drank in such interesting places - each with its own story and contribution to community life in Ljubljana and beyond.
Please do consider a CurioCity tour if you visit Ljubljana - you won't be disappointed, and it will feel more like an afternoon stroll with an interesting and knowledgeable friend who knows all of the best places in town! Highly recommended.

Dragan, our guide from CurioCity, was a rich well of information about local social enterprise initiatives and activities. My impression of Dragan was that he really loves Ljublana and the people who make this city such a friendly and relaxed place. To share his love with us allowed us to connect with the place and people, and we ended up going back to the same restaurants and coffee bar (Café Cokl) he had introduced us to, enjoying their great food and amazing coffee. Thank you for a great tour and your wonderful company!

Tjaša escorted my friend and I on a wonderful informal walking tour of Ljubljana.
Starting at a local coffee shop, we meandered through the old town and Tivoli Park with a pit stop at the Boathouse for a beer followed by a local cafe for lunch. She was friendly and knowledgable managing expectations at our own pace without overloading us with information. There was lots to learn, things we would never have discovered on our own, being historically, culturally and politically aware.
We are set up now for independent touring for the rest of our short break. The tour was most special because it was small and intimate, accompanied by only one other guest - so all our questions were answered. The whole tour took just over 4 hours.
Thank you very much. Excellent!!

The escorted tour guide made you feel as he was a good friend taking you around a tour of his favourite city. The stop offs (coffee and dinner) were novel and very interesting social enterprises. He was very knowledgeable about the city, and made the whole tour very entertaining and interesting. His style was informal and relaxed and he answered most questions that we asked. A great tour of a beautiful city with a twist of social conscience - worth every euro !!

Had a great orientation of Ljubljana with Tjasa today. Firstly we were late as we got stuck at the Austria/Slovenia border, but Tjasa was really understanding and started the trip 1 hour later for us.
We were shown around the medieval and Roman parts of the town and saw some interesting historical and architectural sights, learning about the various periods in Slovenia’s history. Tjasa was very knowledgable about this.
On top of it all we saw and sampled some great local foods, and had many recommendations for our next few days here.
Thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend, thanks !

We're delighted that you have enjoyed our tour. As all our tours are bespoke and we are travellers ourselves, we know unexpected things can happed. But the most important things is that you have had a good time. Hope to see you again. Dragan (on behalf of the CurioCity team).

The sustainability tour I did was great and definitely exceeded my expectations.
I have a done a lot of tours in European cities and have to say this is one of the best.
The guide was very knowledgeable and tailored the tour to the groups likes and interests.

I was hosting a team from different European countries in my home town Ljubljana and decided to organize a tour with Curiocity - Dragan was our guide. Even for me, the local, the tour was full of new learnings. My guest were all astonished by Ljubljana's charm and its focus on sustainability, but me as well! Warmly reccomended!

What a great 2 hours discovering stories about the people and social enterprises of Ljubljana. It was a quirky and fun combination of food drinks and a lovely introduction to the real city and its people. Highly recommend a curiocity tour.

Me and my partner went to Ljubljana and decided we wanted to go Lake Bled, but we where a bit late out and wasn't able to get a tour there. So we decided we wanted a tour in the city Ljubljana instead, we sent lots of emails to different companies all saying its to late - except CurioCity! First of all their web cite is excellent. Second of all, they responded straight away, and offered a tour specialised for us! We wanted a mix of history and romance, so first we meet in front of a tall building, we went up and looked all over Ljubljana! Then looked at some of the amazing buildings, and the history behind that and the dragons before he took us to some local shops which was all about fair trade and giving back to the community. Then we walked to the butchers bridge, he helped us find a lock we could put on it, and then we headed for a boat trip on the romantic river before having champagne at a lovely bar! It was a private tour, best price we found, and we got boat trip and champagne and a very talented man as a guide which did this as a hobby! So it was a really good experience with a nice man and a new friend. Would recommend it to anyone :-)
