My favourite exibit was a pair of swimming trunks that belonged to a sailor from 100 years ago, with his army ship embroidered in the back.

An interesting Museum of the history of Piran including a display of things recovered from a shipwreck where you walk over a glass floor to see the things underneath.

Not only the museum, but the Gabrielli Palace, where the museum is worth to visit. On the first floor there are wonderful rooms, richly decorated. The museum collection itself is very informatív, nice ship models, and a lot of history.

Interesting old museum on 2 floors. In the museum you can find also old furniture. In one angle you can find very interesting floor, because it is made of glass and below are stones and sea shells. Museum talks about development of Slovenian maritime.

Probably the most helpful person we met in Slovenia was on duty here, and we met many very helpful people. So we had a great time. Fascinating material, including some brilliant ship models.

Enjoyed our visit to this most interesting museum showing all aspects of maritime history on different floors. Need at least 2 hours to appreciated all that was on offer, even though a lot was not in English it was still worth looking at.
