Top ways to experience Király Street
The area
Neighbourhood: District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.

Kiraly Utca is a really busy street in the fabulous Jewish Quarter ( District VII) .
This street is a normal locals street ,lots of local stores along this street and some really good pubs, bars, cafe's and restaurants, its a fun street to check out ,always lively especially at night we visited some great bars and pubs along the street, if you're planning a holiday to Budapest it's most definitely a street to check out.

The place we stayed is Kiraly Street, It is a shopping street with lots of different stores. It is not like the pedestrian Fashion street at all and it is more for the locals. There are lots of small cafe and restaurants, grocery stores etc,

The further away you walk from the city centre, the more reasonable is the price of the restaurants and cafe.

Our hotel was close by so we took advantage of this area for cafes and bars. Seemed perfectly safe to walk, we especially enjoyed the ‘ruin bars’ in this area - just Google them! Choices galore, both food and drink.

The street on where our hotel was situated (Carat Boutique).......plenty bars and shops to suit most tastes. On our final day, we decided to have a late lunch at Okiko....a small restaurant serving Thai and Japanese food.I had tempura prawns and tempura chicken with a mixed salad..my wife had a Thai green creamy chicken curry with boiled rice. Our meals were superb....have to say, in our five days in Budapest, the wines we tasted were superb as were the beers.Kiraly Street like many other streets in Budapest is great for walking around and seeing all the sights and beautiful buildings.

It was the street where we had the accomodation. Full of shops snd locals, pubs, cafes. Very busy on Friday and Saturday evening especially. Nice walk along the street, very good for shopping or having lunch, drinks or dinner.

This is a popular tourist destination because of its great location (everything is just a few steps). You can find small boutiques or bigger elegant shops, but there's a Spar, too, if you need some cheaper drink or food. You can find the right restaurant for you (our favourite is Trófea). We discovered a new place in the street. Twentysix (degrees). 26 refers not only the house-number but the degrees of this jungle. The place (shop, restaurant, yoga-studio ect.) is full of beautiful green plants, palm-trees. We had no time to sit down inside but it's worth a visit to see this green area.

Kiraly utca ("Royal Street") is a delight to stroll. Walk its entire length, simply enjoying the souvenir shops, cafes, pubs, and restaurants. Traditionally, it is the Jewish district of the city, but today this part named Elisabeth District and it is one of the most authentic parts of Budapest with a great number of small boutiques and big shops. We stayed here at great apartment complex 7Seasons Apartments. I recommend this place to everyone, who want to have all in one - great location with the couple steps to the main Metro station - Deak Ferenc Ter, wonderful service, and the best value.

The street has couple private groceries stores and big supermarket Spar at corner Erzsebet Krt. At the beginning of the street located a currency exchange with a very good exchange rate (here is always a queue). Near this street is leafy Elizabeth Square, also just 100 meters from Kiraly is the main shopping street Vaci utca. Don't miss typical inner yards at Klauzal utca (in the middle of Kiraly) with antique market every weekends. So you don't must go here to explore but you have to stay here because this is the most convenient location.
