My Mum and I were shown around Budapest by the lovely and knowledgeable Zoltan. Zoltan gave a 'warts and all' approach about the history and current political climate. It was very interesting and we learnt a lot about the history and saw some beautiful places. The Information provided would not be found on the 'usual' tours. It was a great... More

This was the perfect way to see Budapest for my other half and I! We had 4 hours with Zoltan today and it was amazing. His knowledge was second to none, no idea how he knew so much!!! We went and had some savoury pastries and a drink with him as well, he was so friendly and funny! We were... More

We are so lucky that Andrew had a tour cancel and he was able to show our party of 4 a superb tour of Budapest on short notice. There is a reason why this tour company has such wonderful reviews! Andrew acquainted us (all first timers) with Budapest on many levels - history , culinary, traditions/customs, architecture, religious influences, ethnic... More

First time in Budapest and we are in love with this city. Our tour guide Andrew gave a great blend of history, culture, food, architecture, and good company! We had a fantastic day and were sad to say goodbye. We book a tour in every city and this was one of our favorites. We will be telling our friends about... More

Zoltan was exactly what I was hoping for. He was knowledgeable, funny, interesting, and showed us little (and not so little) details that we never would have found on our own. He is a fascinating man with a fascinating story. We sat together before starting the day and laid out a plan and he made it all fit in half... More

A group of friends on a short weekend in Budapest, so what better way to see the city? Zoltan was tremendous! A concise history before setting off to the castle and old city wall of Buda. Not only were we treated to historical details, but also the intelligent and somewhat dry sense of humour of our guide! Was it interesting?... More

We like to get a historical perspective from local tour guides when we travel, and ask that they share places and perspectives beyond what can be readily found on sites like TripAdvisor. Zoltan led took us on a tour that provided glimpses of Prague from the Middle Ages through the post communism era. Fascinating experience and we highly recommend him.

We are firm believers in engaging the services of a local guide when we visit cities for the first time. A good guide can immerse you in the history, imporant sites and local customs in a way a guide book can not, as well as customize a tour to your interests. Eva surpassed our expectations. She introduced us to "hidden"... More

We had great communication with Zoltan prior to our arrival in Budapest. Having grown up during the Cold War period in the US, my husband and I were interested in learning about the effects Communism had on those living in Hungary. Zoltan picked us up promptly at our hotel and took us to Memento Park in the outskirts of Budapest.... More

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
