My wife and I are in love with Paris. So imagine our astonishment when arriving in Budapest on the Danube in a river boat at night. The view with all the major buildings illuminated was stunning. The city is a tourist mecca, especially the Buda side of the river.

Hoping to get a good orientation Of the city, along with some relevant historical details of the impressive and famous sights in Budapest did not happen on our tour. The guide spoke limited English, was hard to hear, and then repeated things in German, the whole commentary was a big insignificant ramble. Although we chose the longer tour, got off... More

We got on the tour bus and got to see some of the sites. It was a great educational experience. I just wish that we had more time in the city. There's lots of great sites to see and history to absorb. Great city with friendly people!

We made a tour by civitatis as we told the city is big and it was better to do it that way. We were all the time in a hurry and at the end we had to wait more than an hour in the Parlament for some reason, and there the bought the most expensive tickets ( non EU) for... More

We were scheduled to take a 2 1/2 hr City Tour of Budapest, followed by a 2 hr Tour of Parliament from Eurama Travel Agency. However, they neglected to pick us up at our hotel -- and we had to reschedule the City Tour for the afternoon (and the Parliament tour the next morning). Unfortunately, it was a rainy, dreary... We wnjoyed being introduced to Budapest by the Avalon Waterways tour guide. She was knowledgeable and friendly showing us the sights and not boring us unnecessarily. Budapest is just a beautiful city full of history and we really enjoyed seeing it

We really enjoyed the city tour--great way to get a lay of the land. Budapest is not that large and you can get around quite easily on foot.
