I actually dislike the logic of doing a mix of something strongly cultural with something else related to commerce like in book-cafe. But in this case, I have to admit that this Book Cafe is very stunning, both internally and externally. The internal decorations and...More

Was a truly jaw dropping moment: going up the escalator in a huge contemporary bookshop and then traveling back in time to the most astonishing interior. Still closed as of November 2017, but a notice saying it's under renovation. One of those gems of Budapest...More

This is a late post. Solo tripping through Europe, some of my travel friends suggested I visit this amazing book cafe. I did. Decided to make an afternoon treat for coffee and desert. This place is a bit tricky to find as it's on the...More

Don't go, this shop is closed! We took a really long walk to get there, and it was closed because of renovations. Nobody said so inhere, so I think it's important to point out

If someone recommends Book Cafe – Lotz Terem to you, they're probably not doing so because of the food; it's very pricey and doesn't really live up to expectation. The recommendation will be based on the beauty of the venue – an experience that will...More

Honestly, this was one of those literally hidden gems I used to send friends to. When you go through a modern-neon lights kind of book shop and up the staires this breathtaking room greets you that no picture do justice for, with live piano music...More

Lotz Hall was a great café with a breathtakingly beautiful interior that I enjoyed taking foreign friends to. Staff occasionally had their bad days, but that's just Hungary for you and it was nothing egregious. However it has closed recently due to the bankruptcy of...More
