Lovely place, especially for joggers with a separate running track. Though right now they are still heavily try to get everything ready since it is still under construction.

not much to see here but if you want to run and enjoy the view, this is a good place to go. The exterior track was for running so it was not easy to do a causal stroll.

We saved the walk on the Island to our last morning. Sun was shining what more could we want or need. A bit of peace, but this was not to be. As soon as we entered the island from Margaret Bridge we passed diggers and...More

The island is not spectacular but is relaxing. Nice to see all the locals out with family on a Sunday. A nice relaxing way to spend a couple of hours. There are cafes and ice cream places on the island if you just want to...More

Visited late May 17 when sadly, the whole place still seemed to be one gigantic building site. Any sounds of nature were obliterated by construction machinery. When finished, it will no doubt be even better than what the guidebooks currently describe, (though seriously doubt the...More

I had previously visited this Danube Island in the City of Budapest, but right now there is much work on improving the infrastructure on the Island, and maintaining its attractions to visitors. As you enter the Island from the Bridge at the southern end, you...More

It took us 20 min to walk to the island from our hotel. Because we started our walk at 6 am it was cool and the air refreshing. We were joined by quite a few runners and joggers. The island is quite green but its...More

For Budapest, this island between the banks of the
Danube represents a green oasis, especially during
summer when its emerald spaces are much enjoyed by
both locals and tourists. The gardens here are very
picturesque; the flowers in full bloom give the
landscape a variety of hues; the fountains add an air
of freshness, making walks peaceful, joyful and
romantic. A leisurely stroll will uncover a variety of

I don't think it's worth spending time walking around the park at the moment. It's still under construction.

Can one walk to Margaret Island from Pest or must you use some sort of transport? Is it possible to walk from one end of the island to the other? What are the particulars for renting a bike here? It sounds like a lovely place to explore so wondering what options are available to do that. Thanks for a reply.
