Not the most beautiful basilica and quite crowded. Worth a visit to better understand the history of Budapest.

Didn't get to look around much as full for Sunday Prayers. Atmosphere spine tingling and lit a candle for our daughter, tearful moment...

This is a church right out of all the movies. The whole inside is like a museum. The ceiling is adorned with a beautiful painting. There many alters. If you visit only 1 church in Budapest visit this one.

The basilica is wonderful, as is the square that stretches out in front of it. We kept returning here because of the energy, the people-watching, the food, the whole vibe. It's even more beautiful at night when the lights come on.

We lucked out while doing a tour of the Christmas Markets. One of them was in the square by St. Stephen's Basilica. It is a beautiful church and is well worth visiting.

We paid to go to the viewing tower and it was worth it - you can see all of the Buda hills and the city, stunning.

Hi, no it's not free. It cost about 200HOF ( donation) to go inside and 600HOF for the top. If the weather is sunny though definitely go on the top, you can see the whole city from there!
