All the hop on hop off buses stop here. Most stop here for 15 minutes but we got off walked around taking loads of pictures, watched the people Ice skating then headed over to Robinsons restaurant for a delicious meal and caught one of the other hop on hop off buses back again.

Visited in mid-December when the weather is freezing but didn't regret visiting! Very nice stroll around the square and great photo op as well. Can be crowded with tourists.

This was a part of our evening walk and were glad to see the square by night, as the lighting makes it even more spectacular!

I agree with some of the other reviews that while this is a pleasant area and the local park looks good, unless you know Hungarian history or have a guide you probably don't appreciate it for what it is. The square is a great open space but on a freezing January day there was little happening. Be interesting to see... More

Excellent place to visit. Short walk from the thermal baths and many other attractions near by including an ice rink, museum and castle/palace.

Located in Hosok Square in Pest, this park features the Millenium Monument which features the 7 chieftans of the Magyars and other important figures in Hungarian history. Very impressive and a popular tourist stop.

If you want to feel the history of Hungary, you should go there. Located at the end of Andrássy Avenue, Heroes' Square is the entrance to the City Park as well as one of the most spectacular venues in Budapest. There you can see a semicircled colonnade encompasses the column with statues of Hungarian kings and heroes.

We took a 4 hours Budapest day trip hence, not sure how to reach here. Hero Square is in the itinerary. Compared to other structure in the city, this square is meaningful to the history of Hungary. And the explanatory behind each figure that shape the Hungarian today.

Heroes' Square was awesome, and the culmination of a long walk around what Budapest has to offer. You might think that you've seen similar things before and this can be given a miss, but you'd be missing out. There's something about this square that you can't truly appreciate unless you see it for yourself.
