Address
Neighbourhood: District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.

Essentially do not go here to eat. We got ripped off left right and centre. After some sub par food and TERRIBLE service, we asked to have our service charge removed, only to be told by our rude waitress that, no she wouldn’t not remove it! We later returned, much to our dismay, and went to another restaurant, only to be served RAW CHICKEN, and when I say raw chicken I mean cold gelatinous chicken. Maybe this is a good place to drink, but as I said before - DO NOT EAT HERE.

If you go there, you have to stay in a bar. It's not a tourist attraction, but rather a place you can see the life. It's always lively. Just stay in a bar, order yourself a drink with some food or even a pipe as well and enjoy the night with your friends. How you like the place is really depends on who you go with and where do you decided to sit down.

Really lively place with plenty of food places, bars etc.

It was raining the day I went but it was still busy. I think it may be slightly overrated (my opinion only!)

Not a huge amount for vegetarians but the restuarants do have options which is limited.

I chose spiller bistro and their burger and chips was really nice. Service was excellent. Either 5 8 or 12% service. You choose. I chose 12 as they were on the ball, smiley and quick with service. Total including service with a bottle of water was around £20 or pound less. To get an idea.

Weather was rainy and about 4 degrees 13th January for your understanding.

Very safe to walk around as well!

I went for the weekend flea and craft market. Lots of vendors with small antiques, maps, jewelry, t-shirts, handicrafts and other items for those who enjoy flea markets. There are also numerous restaurants interspersed between the vendors so it’s a lively atmosphere to spend an hour or two. You never know, you may find a treasure.
