Szimpla Farmers' Market: market, brunch and community place. The market has been organized every Sunday in Szimpla since 2012. Every week we have approximately 1500-2000 local and international visitors and 30-40 farmers, mainly from the proximity of Budapest, offering their own produces. Our farmers must meet very strict requirements, our staff regularly checks how the products are made at the farms. Our vendors offer cheese, sausage, fruits, vegetables, spreads, honey, chutneys, juices, organic and non-organic, yet small farm produced delicacies in a great variety. On our first floor we offer an all you can eat brunch from the produces of the market. We have live music, and every week a different NGO cooks and raises money for charity, where you can taste what they have cooked for donations.

We went here on our first full day in Budapest. I thought the place looked nice and had a lot of character, but it was a bit 'stressy'- the atmosphere wasn't very chilled out. I think it would have helped if some people had taken...More

The good thing about not having breakfast at the hotel, is you get to wander about and end up finding gems like these. I don't usually visit the market, but, this one certainly deserves a mention. There are many stalls here selling bread, cheese and...More

Delightful real farmers' market with seating where you can eat your purchases & buy drinks from surrounding bars in a ruin pub. Amazing meat, cheese, bread, truffle oil from a guy whose dog finds the truffles ❤️

I used to live by this market, and it was part of my Sunday morning ritual. If you're staying somewhere and have the facilities to cook, I recommend getting veggies, fruit, and eggs from here. If not, I recommend getting some cheese and sausages and...More

Hi, we are very sorry to hear about your experience. Our "sellers" are the farmers themselves, therefore it might have been quite impossible not to know what the dish contained (in addition, our farmers do not sell prepared "dishes", they sell vegetables, meat, ham, honey,...More

It's a small market with a really limited selection. I believe there are less than 15 stalls there, mostly selling cheese, jam and bread. However, 20 steps away from this market is a small alleyway that has a few street food stores, selling goulash, langos,...More

Hi, we are really sorry you have found our market small. The reason was you came on Whitsuntide Sunday, which is a religious holiday in Hungary, together with Monday, and about two thirds of the farmers did not come, however we did not want to...More
