More functional than pretty

Useful structure, of course, but for the ones who were used to the beautiful bridges over the Danube, this one won't surprise much.

The brigde is in very good condition but not this famous as the others as the Elisabeth Hid (Brighe). I crossed it a couple of times by walking and running. One time to reach the Citadelle. Its very easy to reach be street car. If you are a sports entusiast, there are sport outlets nearby. Very close is a brand... More

As we cruised to Budapest via River Danube with Buda on the left hand side, Petofi Bridge seemed to be the first one we passed through. This bridge appeared to be normal and had been overshadowed by other bridges both in name and usability. But still it should be an important link between Buda and Pest along River Danube.

Why is this on here? It's not one of the ornate, historical bridges of Budapest. It's not a modern marvel of engineering. It's not a bad bridge, don't get me wrong, it gets you perfectly across the river, but really really really not an attraction. And a bit far out the centre. Don't waste your time going to see a... Although this is just a bridge, we found ourselves on here while waiting for our tram connection to the wonderful bar Bajor Sorozo . The bridge is overlooked as most people go to the Chain Bridge,Liberty Bridge and Margaret bridge but this bridge has some merit and is good for transport links to various parts of the city. Like all... More

It has a nice view if the weather is good. Easy to walk across, however it is literally just a long bridge, that doesn't look that great.

This bridge is an average bridge. It is wide and long. Its best aspect is the views to the North which can be seen as a summary of Budapest.

Why would anyone consider this a tourist thing to do? It is a bridge. No decorations, nothing special, it is a way to get from one side of the river to the other. Poor Petofi Bridge, it has to struggle against the big lights of Chain Bridge, Liberty Bridge, even Rakoczi Bridge got a new paint job. Petofi just carries... More

A very simple bridge, nothing special..., trust me, i lived near there 27 year long :-D Built between 1933-37, it called Horthy Miklós Bridge between 1937-1945. At the end of World War II exploded, reopened in 1952.
