Me and my partner recently enjoyed the Hungarianbirdwatching Tour. Being complete and utter novices we were excited about and intrigued on what the tour had to offer. Our guide Sandos drove us around various locations around Hortobagy. We were able to see many different bird species and also the Geese and Crane migration which was beautiful to witness. If I... Dear Mark, I would like to thank for birding with us. When you and your partner booked the tour, I was excited about how you would like the tour, since (as I understand) this was your first guided birding tour. I’m happy, that you were satisfied with the tour and with Sándor’s guiding. Crane watching is must see in Europe... More

We found Hungarianbirdwatching.com on line and went by the reviews. We were not disappointed! Karoly Teleky was wonderful to coordinate with and work out the details. We had a very limited time window, and he has accommodated us. Our birding guide Bencz (I hope I am spelling his name correctly) was experienced, knowledgeable and excellent at spotting the birds. No... More

Dear MDBirders, First of all, thanks, for using our services and leaving a review at Tripadvisor. I’m happy, that you were satisfied with the Kiskunság tour and could see (and photograph) many new species. Despite of the ugly weather forecast it was a nice, warm autumn day, with excellent views of 30+ Great Bustards, Northern (Hen) Harrier, White-tailed and Imperial... More

Our day-trip to Hortobagy gave us the best possible understanding of puszta nature, agriculture and the living environment. Among birds, although it was’nt nesting period, we met many interesting and to ourselves new species. Eagles, other predators and the mass of cranes in red-turning sunset were impressive as well as the wetland area with its swarming flocks of birds. We... More

Dear Jaana & Hannu, Many thanks, for birding with us and sharing your impressions on Tripadvisor. Also thanks, for your flexibility to change the date and make this tour possible, because Sándor is a busy guide with many project assignments as well. Though end of September is a bit slow in birding, I’m happy you could see many new species,... More

My partner and I participated in a group tour to Romania and Hungary to visit our partner Unitarian church in August 2016. I booked two days with Hungarian Birdwatching after this tour. The first day we birded south of Budapest. The other day we birded on the way to Vienna; my partner [who is not a birder] also participated in... More

Dear CarolinaBirder, Thanks, for birding with us in Kiskunság as well as in the Lake Fertő and Hanság areas. Though end of August is regarded a bit slow in birding, altogether 96 birds were seen and heard during the 2-day trip. Fortunately the migrating species like Black Stork, Red-footed Falcon, Bee-eater, Roller, Hoopoe and Golden Oriole were still here and... More

A great day with guide Zoli. He did not only show me the good spots for all kind of both nice and special birds, but also showed me a little bit around in Hungary. He told me things about the history and culture of Hungary, that was really interesting. Very good company and driving around with him was really nice.... More

I’m happy, that during the Kiskunság tour with Zoli you could see 86 birds and hear another five, including birds that are rare in The Netherlads. Indeed, Zoli is a very kind person and very enthusiastic birder and photographer. I’m happy you were... More

This was my third tour with Hungarian Birdwatching and it was just as good as the previous tours. Ten of us birdwatchers from Fife spent 10 days birdwatching and sightseeing in Hungary and Transylvania. The guides, all of whom spoke good English, were superb (150+ species seen, including the elusive Wallcreeper). Karoly Tereki's organisation was, as always, meticulous. The guest... More

Dear Paul, Thanks, for birding with us for the third time. Hungary’s wetlands and steppe habitats mixed with the mountainous habitats of Transylvania made it possible to see and hear 180+ species on the tour. For me the highlights were the excellent view of Collared Pratincoles in Hortobágy, the territory flights and fights of Common Rosefinches, the 20 minutes view... More

Personalized birding experience! Saw over 50 different species of birds, most of which were new to my life list and many of which were rare sightings. Guide was very knowledgeable, educative, sensitive to my learning style, and fun. Company was easy to work with, accommodated my travel dates, and spoke English perfectly! I recommend Hungarian Birdwatching to all levels of... More

Three of us from Australia organised 2 day tours and have been absolutely delighted with each experience. They are really well organised, professional birdwatchers and guides. They were extremely considerate, even providing a tripod. The days were leisurely and our guides had an excellent rapport with each of us. Thanks Karolyi, David and Gabor. Highly recommended.

Dear jenperthWAAUst Thanks, for submitting your review on our day-tours to Kiskunság and Börzsöny Mountains. I’m happy that I could join the Kiskunság trip. Dear Kevin478, Thanks, for birding with us and praising László’s skill. It is very difficult to find Great Bustards during the displaying season and László managed it. We happened to be in Debrecen with a spare day and so my wife and I booked a day's birding through Karoly. Sandor was our guide and did an excellent job exploring Hortobagy National Park with us.
