Founded in 1983 by Iván Fischer and Zoltán Kocsis, the Budapest Festival Orchestra has established itself as one of the ten leading orchestras of the world. It is loved by audiences and praised by international critics for its intensive and emotionally gripping performances. Iván Fischer, as music director, has been directing the artistic work of the BFO for thirty years.

One of the best orchester in the world. Iván Fischer the art director and chief conductor of the orchester is brilliant. As they tour worl-wide, you can lsiten them not only in Hungary.

We saw an amazing performance, in a fantastic venue for a very reasonable price when compared to orchestras in the UK. I would love to see them again!

Hungarians are proud of having a famous orchestra (BFZ) which is well known on each continent and plays classical music. Lucky foreigners also have lots of options to listen their concerts close to their home as the orchestra is on way all the time. This...More
