Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Had a lot of trouble finding this gallery - it's not very well sign-posted even when you're in the Balna building. Finally 1 Security Guard managed to tell us where it was.
The gallery is small, but for anyone that's into furniture and textile design, it's very interesting.
If you have a Budapest card, it's free to visit.
There's some interesting shops and restaurants also located in this building.

Located on the banks of the Danube, is this whale shaped complex, built around two existing brick building, definitely worth a visit for the architecture alone, you can go inside as it is part of a mall, and admire the glass structure. There are also restaurants cafes and bars to keep the visitor entertained.

We went in here as the roof of the building was very eye catching. There is no signage, so it's difficult to work out what is inside the building. The shops are a mix of furniture, antiques and clothing plus a small cafe, whose owner looked like she hadn't seen a customer all day. The restaurants have good views over the Danube with terraces for when the weather is warmer.

As the signage was poor and we weren't that impressed with the choice of shops, we left without seeing the exhibition space. The toilets were free, which was better than paying 200 HUF each just across the road in the market hall.

The Budapest Gallery is an art institution of the Municipal Government of Budapest. It organises contemporary art exhibitions on the Pest side of Elisabeth Bridge, at Szabad Sajtó út 5, in the building of the Klotild Palace. The Budapest Gallery’s scope of activities include the creation, maintenance and renovation-restoration of works of art for public places in Budapest, as well as the execution of tender procedures, criticism and registration.

I believe the building is called Bálna. I wanted to see the gallery as it was inside an amazing building. It is a modern whale-shaped complex roof structure over two older buildings. The New Budapest Gallery is a modern space in a restored
warehouse. Interesting to visit the building and gallery.

Interesting whale structure, containing a good mix of different stalls and shops. Enjoyed the gallery showing contemporary art which is free with the tourist card. Thought the space was underutilised, but then again it was late Feb. Had a great burger in the restaurant upstairs.

Located in the nice 'whale' building, a simple space housing different exhibitions

Not overly welcoming staff and not a particularly inspiring layout when I visited

Free with the Budapest Card so have a look
