A short walk from the old town, about 20 minutes. Has good views of the Danube River, UFO Bridge and the outer suburbs. The walk to the castle is on a slight incline but not too difficult. The castle is simple in design with Roman style statues at the gates. We were told that it can look like an upside... More

Other than the views from the outside of the castle I have no idea why we were brought here on the tour, nothing to see in the "castle" and boring...drive up through the city was nice however. (and I do know why we were brought there it is a main attraction but I thought it was a waste...spend your time... More

We did not go inside the castle but did spend time at the entrance admiring the views all around. It is a good 10 minute walk uphill from old town. There were many tour buses going up the hill and there may be public transport up there too - not sure.

The view from the castle is a good way to see all of Bratislava, but it was't very exciting. Nor was the castle anything special. Personally, I preferred seeing the castle from afar when it was lit up at night -- not worth the trek up the hill.

The castle gets a big write up but inside is like a 1940 all painted white and no real feel of being old, the displays are dull and poor and the heat inside the castle is so hot that after 10 minutes you are either stripping off or want to get out for some fresh air.The only good thing it... More

A nice visit to see the castle up close with it's medieval courtyard. Nicely upkept with painting of the ornaments looking fresh.

I have read here in tripadvisor that it's not worth to enter the castle and i believe it is truth. Outside is beautyful, free, and provides you a view of 3 countries, Slovakia, Austria and also Hungary.
