Lithuanian Zoological Garden is proud of the unique landscape and forest with centenarian oaks. It is home for almost 2000 animals representing more than 215 species and subspecies; 62% of all animals are recorded in IUCN or Lithuanian Red List of Threatened Species. Lithuanian Zoological Garden is located in the heart of Kaunas. Here visitors are offered the opportunity not only to observe the animals but also to take a part in the fun activities. Have you ever seen how a tiger catches it’s pray? In the zoological garden you can experience this and more, because every day the zoo organizes animal's feeding time presentations. On the weekends You can get even more excitement by holding an exotic snake or lizard. Check our website to see the events, which are happening at least once per month.

Affordable price to get in and we had the whole Zoo to ourselves for majority of visit. Was a bit concerned with the size of some enclosures. The seal had a small enclosure as did the Lion. Compare that to the size of the foxes...More

Zoo is easily chievble by car. We arrived at the opening and parking was empty. About 12pm it was already full. Zoo is not big, but there are many animals, reptiles, birds. Interesting for children (free entrance under 5 years old). Some exposition is moved...More

We will have to return as it was too cold for some animals, so they were hiding in their houses :) I would suggest administration to have suggested walking route on their small maps they are giving at the entrance, to make sure for the...More

It's very sad to see animals suffering. The place itself is old and desperately needs renovation. The animals there are incredible but their life is just terrible.

Although there is a variety of animals in a green natural environment, the zoo needs a total renovation. The cages are small in some cases and the animals are not prevented from escaping through natural barriers like other modern zoo.

Came here with my kids. I don't really appreciate of Zoos in general, but this one, it has something. Some home touch perhaps. I'd say it definitely is better than Zoo in Minsk or Moscow. Seems natural all around, animals do not look tired or...More

interesting, entertaining, variety of animal and birds, caffees, souvenier shops. everytime I am in Lihtuania, I visit it. could do better with donations and additional funding. not expensive entrance. great for children, couples or teen groups.

The zoo is not very wellkept, and the animals haven't got any space, so I did not enjoy it at all. But it was OK compared to the entrance fee and the range of different animals.

This is a toughie, again wow. I felt sorry for the animals, the lone hyena especially, who was wandering around in circles encompassed by his electric fence. I'm surprised he hasn't tried to end his misery by running at it. The varied selection of animals...More

Zoo location is very good as it is around parks and green area. 30- 40 minute walk from city center/ bus station. In my opinion there are two drawbacks in zoo 1. Most of animals are in double fence, in that case you unable to...More
