Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Pika Jalapeño is also known as Long Leg. It’s a road built to allow connection between Toompea Hill and the harbour, that was suitable for riders and horse drawn carts. The gate was governed by the lower town and a portcullis could be closed. It formed part of the town defences. Today it’s a good cut through between the two areas.

The food was good but not great, it was more about the nice setting on the street side.
The garlic bread was deep fried bread which was different but nice and the ceviche was ok.
As for the mains my husband had a nice schnitzel but my duck in blackcurrant sauce was given to someone else in error so by the time I got my meal my husband had eaten his meal. They did bring my side salad out to eat early but by the time I got my food I wasn’t hungry. I though the side salad might have been complementary as an apology but it wasn’t. Also the limoncello spritz was horrid so not overly impressed although the duck was good when I eventually got it.
Also they only have one toilet of fuel sex so expect a long wait!!

This old gate is pretty nice. It looks well maintained although somebody spray painted on one side of it. It’s on the way up to the big church and was worth a look.

This historic gate tower is located at the intersection of Pikk jalg, Rataskaevu, and Nunne streets. It is one of the numerous defense towers in the Old Town wall.

Today, the tower is used as living quarters and studios.

In late November in the old town of Tallinn near the Russian Church when it was bitterly cold I was looking for a nice restaurant to rest and eat. I found this attractive restaurant but when inside there was no one. When I was about to leave I heard some noise from inside. This was about noon time and finally I got to have a nice hot broth which I enjoyed very much. It’s a very well located restaurant on one of the streets in the old town. I’m sure it will be a great attraction when the sun is out as it has seating outside also.

Our tour group went thru Pika Jala Varavatorn to lower town. Our group leader warned us about the fact this gate was the pick pockets favourite spot.
