    Fancy church.
This is a grand old church. You do have to pay to enter which seems common in the Baltic Area. It’s the grandest church that I’ve seen in this area. A lot of shiny gold. It looks old and more in the Russian style.

    Beautiful !
This is simply beautiful both inside and out! No photos allowed inside, though, which is a shame (if understandable) as the iconography and general decoration is stunning. There was a service taking place when we visited but tourists were still allowed in, although I did feel slightly uncomfortable.

Largest and Most Beautiful Orthodox Church in Tallin
The Alexander Nevsky Cathedral is the largest Orthodox Church in Tallin, being very beautiful both inside and from outside. The mosaic and iconography work is stunning. Though no pictures are allowed inside the church, the external architecture allows for for very impressive pictures to be taken. Since it is on top of a hill within the Tallin Old Town area, the cathedral can be visited while touring the historical neighborhood.

    Stunning Cathedral
The Aleksander Nevski Katedraali was completed in 1900 and stands in Lossi Plats. It’s a Russian Orthodox Church. During Soviet times it was left to fall into disrepair. Since 1991 it has been beautifully restored, both inside and out. It is well worth a visit to see how decorative it is. It was very busy when we visited but there was no service at the time.

    Gorgeous church
There are 2 other churches with the same name: one in Sofia, Bulgaria and the other in Macedonia. This one in Estonia is truly gorgeous like the others. This church literally saved me from frozen feet. After visiting Tompea hill for the view, I walked around a bit then discovered this church. The main reason I entered was to find somewhere warm, to warm-up for a few minutes, because on this hill, I couldn't find any other building opened. I was happy I did because they also sell oils, postcards, crucifixes etc., of which I was happy to purchase. The interior is also very gorgeous and the security seems tight too..don't know why. Anyhow I highly recommend a visit to this church, it's simply beautiful.

A stunning Russian church that is beautiful to see outside and in. Shame cars are allowed to park around the side of it.
Wondrous looking church. In great weather the white decor looks amazing. The level of detail is a sight to behold. The domes dominate your view with the whole exterior very well maintained. Its location is somewhat spoilt by all the cars parked around it. It is a shame they don’t designate this car free and allow the setting to be complete. The inside has a gift shop leading to a feast for the eyes of gold and silver and dramatic and detailed paintings and icons. The room is not massive and the main part is cordoned off but viewable. The blue parts of the ceiling you would think would be painted areas too but still look in keeping. Lovely to see outside and in.

This is a great church, which looks much better from outside. Inside, it is smaller and less impressive than might be expected.

This is a typical Russian cathedral with its typical onions.
The cathedral looks massive and impressive from the outside, but the interior is less exciting than expected.

Beautiful church and focal point in Tallinn - it can be seen from all parts of the city! The area around it is peaceful too and worth an explore.

Excellent. Very impressive structure and the interior decoration is unbelievable. The whole church is covered in statues, carvings and gilt decor. Photos are restricted inside but well worth a visit

There was a religious activity ongoing when we visited. No entry. No glancing. No photo taking allowed. But this church reminds of the one in St Petersburg. Photo ops of its exterior is good enough.
