I have been very often the Toompea hill, about 5-6 times a year, 20-year timeline and I do not get bored. Toompea offers to see and do, if your patience to walk the stairs or steep hills. A taxi can get close to, if there is a physical limit.

Suggest that you walk up to this point as there is so much to investigate and view on the way. The view over the lower town area and out to the harbours is really panoramic.

Had a lovely walk in the old town. Worth visiting all the viewing points (we managed to find three of them) to see the contrast between old town and the old factory/harbour area.

The best part of getting to Toompea Hill is the meandering walk through the amazing old town. The overlook is perfection; great for a souvenir pick but you have to be there during the right time of day so the light highlights the red roofs.

Great views of the old town and well kept. Quite easy accessable but the rain made it not so pleasant.

Toompea Hill is the site of upper old town in Tallin, Estonia. There are several places to visit here including: the Alexander Nevsky church; Toompea Castle a 9th century stronghold now used by the Estonian Parliament; and the oldest building on Toompea Hill St Mary's Cathedral build in the 1200's.

The hill offers you a pretty decent view of the Old Town (well, as a hill should). So step up, climb and you should regret. By the way, you can have a drink at one of the cafes offering some pretty views down.

Tallinn was not marred by the two world wars and as a result the original architecture is remarkably intact, consequently the views from Toompea Hill are likely similar to what people would have seen during the Middle Ages. The architecture is quite unique.
