Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This street emerged in the 11th century as a path connecting the trade route of the Pärnu Highway and the Town Hall Square.
One of the highlights of the street is the Cat's Well on Rataskaevu Plats.
Right in front of the well is Rataskaevu 16, a haunted house where the devil is known to have celebrated his wedding.
Now Rataskaevu 16 is a restaurant. You can find also many other restaurants on this street.

Although there are quite a few historical buildings, RS is not an attraction per se. It is a bit too touristy and busy. There are quite a few nice shops and restaurants. Having said that, it is almost certain that you will see it while in Tallinn.

This old town is like a fairy tale town, with the town gates, beautiful views, old historic churches and buildings. This street is fun to walk with shops and restaurants.

It seems every European Old Town has a “Restaurant Row.” The one in Tallinn is Rataskaevu Street, made obvious with an abundance of restaurants and pubs lining it. At one end you’ll find the allegedly haunted “Cat’s Well,” depicted in the accompanying photo. This street is an experience. I perused menus at each, and selections seemed better than the last. I thought I’d remembered all the details, but when I returned that evening I couldn’t recall which restaurant or meal that had attracted me the most. I settled on Rataskaevu 16, and asked the server to recommend local cuisine. I was not disappointed.

We stayed at the fantastic Talinn Palace Hotel, overlooking Freedom Square. The male receptionist recommended a walk along Rataskaevu Street. He said you would have a great choice of varied, high quality restaurants. we took his advice and were not disappointed. Every restaurant visited was different but the quality of food, drink and service was outstanding. it adjoins the Old Town. You can enjoy Vegan food, Russian fare and good estonian/European food. I recommend any visitor to Talin to take a walk along Rataskaevu st and enjoy visiting the restaurants there.

Leading straight off Town Hall Square towards Toompea in the centre of the Old Town, Rataskaevu Street has the best restaurants in Tallinn (far better and cheaper than in Town Hall Square) and some interesting shops

A street one surely shall pass by. Nothing much different as an architecture compared to the other parts of the old town, but the restaurants really make the difference.

This street and area typifies the Old Town itself. Architecture unique, medieval and beautiful. The streets are cobblestone as much of the area was born from 12th and 13th centuries in Europe. Narrows street which branch off into other streets and alleyways. A tourist paradise for people watching and taking photos. Also several famous churches in this area and surrounding it. Others attractions and landmarks exist here and it makes for a good walking tour. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes. The cobblestone streets are tough on the feet. However, the street and area is still worth a visit!
