The Estonian Theatre and Music Museum collects, preserves, studies and introduces Estonian cultural heritage in the field of theatre and music. New permanent exhibition "Stories and Songs" Our exhibition's stories are a part of Estonia's literary classics, and the songs are part of a repertoire that is known by every Estonian. Through them, we present the collections of the Estonian Theatre and Music Museum and the history of our country, where an important place is held by both music and theatre. Estonians do not call themselves pople of music and theatre for nothing! The exhibition is presented in Estonian and English; Russian and Finnish translations are provided on tablets.

Small museum but well displayed artefacts including musical instruments. Music and drama have been very important in shaping the national consciousness, and this is at the heart of the museum. The museum is well ordered and much information is in English. Well worth a visit.

Spend a quiet hour here (there's a hands-on floor that is a kid-friendly space), and be amazed at how much you'll learn about the history of music and theatre in Estonia. A lot of national pride on display here, that's for sure (see the special...More

My sister is a music teacher, so we visit many musical instrument museums in Europe. This is the smallest one we have ever been to, but it did have some unique features. The museum itself is located in an old tower of the city wall....More
