Located in an old wooden building in the heart of Tartu’s Old Town, the Toy Museum transports its adult visitors back to their most joyous childhood days and offers children plenty to see and do. The permanent exhibit displays toys that children in Estonia have played with throughout the ages. The display also includes artist-made dolls, souvenir dolls from around the globe and traditional Finno-Ugric toys. The museum has play and workshop rooms, and the exhibit rooms also offer plenty to keep one busy. Alternating exhibits and children’s activities are organized at the museum. In Theatre House there is a theatre stage, Children’s Studio, and theatre puppets museum. Theatre House is a unique theatre which gets its inspiration from the Toy Museum, childhood, games and memories.

We visit it each time when we are in Tartu. Its very interesting and its never boring there. There is kids playroom also in top floor. Nice family attraction and for parents it's rather nostalgic to see the toys we used to have 😊

This was not just a typical museum. It was fun and interactive, even for adults. It was great seeing global toys as well. I was really shocked as an American. I really loved this place!!

A very nice place to visit. A lot of toys, starting from the end of 19 th century. You can see how the toys changed with the lifestyle, and how sone of them did not change a lot. Also, there modern toys and the whole room with lego. I recommend visiting it even without children, it is interesting for adults,... More

In Tartu Toy Museum you can see many familiar toys for girls and for boys. Especially I like these many bears in the museum and railway. Working railway.

I found this museum quite attractive. I could find toys from my childhood there. An exhibition about dangerous toys was informative. The playroom was fun for my daughter.

It is fun for adults and also for kids. For adults it is a bit nostalgic and for kids great fun (so many toys around). They also enjoyed also playing in play corner. You can spend there with kids easily 2 hours.

I had no plans on going, but I went together with friends visting Tartu. Toys are not really my thing, but I was positively surprised in the exhibition and I spent almost an hour. If you have at least an average interest in toys, make sure not to miss this museum.
