We booked a ballet in advance via our hotel, reserving best seats in the huse - well it was only 30 euros. It was a classical ballet but rather unknown - excellent standard, large pit orchestra and a real privelege. Bit of a dsessing up atmosphere whch was appropriate, without being stuffy. A memorable experience.

Great opera!! Great decor, great performers, great costumes! Three hours seems long, but it was not long at all. (2 pauses). I liked the modern way of presenting this opera.

We watched Nabucco with wonderful female voices. The building is beautiful inside and out, polite staff. You can get very cheap tickets for seats where you have to choose if you want to see subtitles or actors - these kinds of tickets are the only ones left a month before the play.

I have been to several performances this season, both opera and ballet, and would highly recommend anyone to spend a night here. Tickets are particularly affordable when compared with other theatres around Europe, and can be easily bought at the box office as well as on internet (don't need to print if you have a smartphone). Never had problems in... More

What a nice Opera-house. I realy loved the interior and the scene, stunning. Comfortable seatings at the balconies. The staff was very polite. The opera Il Trovatore was a wonderful performance.

We were an English group visiting Riga so we decided to attend the NY Gala evening....the building is amazing (but not the easiest to navigate - we got lost in the interval) It was lovely to see all the Lativans dressed up for the evening (we were not so dressed up) a little annoying because it seems that there were... I'm kind of culturally handicapped and I find operas monotonous. for similar travelers I wouldn't advice going in. the exterior is nice. make few nice clicks and you're done

This is a classy opera house of old that has been lovingly maintained to give you a wonderful experience whether you've come here for the opera, the ballet, or something else.

Wonderful, classical and top professional opera singers and orchestra simply dazzled with their top-on brilliant execution of the repertoire - something I expect at the Lyric in Chicago but don't see always in Scandinavia. Bravo bravo. And so easy to stay at: just grab a room at the nearby Elizabeth Blu Raddison. You walk across the park to the opera... More
