It is a great place to stroll. Beautiful buildings in Art Deco style. You shouldn't miss it. In addition to that you have good restaurants on the area for a quick or long lunch.

I love the old city with the clash of Russian East and west - it is so beautiful am amazed it isn't the most used locale for film sets. Great Photos and walking around.

A beautiful city. Old city is surrounded by a "new" city that has a wonderful mix of architecture including some of the best art nouveau anywhere. The city is fabulously clean and the people are very friendly and accommodating to tourists. You will love the...More

As the lonely planet suggests you just need to walk around the old town, you won't miss the charm of the city! Very nice streets, small shops and cafes... In one afternoon you can really enjoy the place, as it is very small

I love the architecture of Vecriga: different, surprising buildings overtake each other in beauty...Small cafes in hidden streets, narrow passings, - with their own mystery on almost every corner.

If you visit Riga you must walk around in old town. Restaurants, shops, attractions, street art and performers are all there. Get comfy shoes since the cobblestones can be pain.

vern nice city, amazing buildings reconstructed and in good conditions but downtown is only made for tourists, you cannot find any Latvians there - it's much too expensive for them and very far from the real Latvia

We really enjoyed Riga during our one day at port. It is a beautiful, quaint old town that offers a lot of shopping and a few nice sites. The weather is also better than other ports in the Baltics, so we certainly enjoyed that too....More
