Amazing castle & grounds & entrance only €2. Best on a good day!!! A big area to explore!!! The people we spoke to at the castle & souvenir shops were really nice & chatty!!! You can also dress up in costume!!!

We visited Sigulda Castle as a day trip from Riga. Easily reached by train, and only a short walk from the station, admission is very reasonable (especially with my student discount!). The ruins were a bit icy in places (it was March!) but very picturesque and well presented, with areas of new woodwork allowing visitors to access quite a lot... More

We arrived at the old Sigulda Castle after sunset and luckily the gate was still open. The remains of the old castle and descriptions were great, there's a nice view of the valley and another castle off in the distance. There were some joggers and teen agers walking around so it appears the don't try to keep people out after... More

The ruins have been partly restored so you can walk up on the higher floors and in the tower. The views were amazing, especially if you have already been to the Turaida Castle, of which you have fab views from here. The entry is 2€ and there are a couple of souvenir shops on the grounds (before the paying parts)... More

We were the only ones here, which may be due to the weather, but very good and some good views. Worth a visit!

Had a chance to visit great gastronomic event at Castle territory January 28. Fog and humid, but tasty food, Latvian folk music and great atmosphere compensate everything. From one on viewing platforms can see valley of Gauja river, but not today. Return guaranteed. 😊

Enjoyed a nice hike here from Sigulda train station - about a 15 min walk. The castle although more or less just ruins, but I really enjoyed walking around the grounds and you can see (on a clear day) Turaida Castle and the beautiful green surroundings. I would recommend including this a day trip to Sigulda, and taking into all... More

We stopped here on the three castle hike as our first stop. This place was so cool! We got some great photos. If you really want to explore, there's a little bit of climbing/hiking involved. It wasn't crowded at all when we went, only a few other tourists there.

Visited Sigulda Castle as part of an excursion from our cruise ship docked in Riga. While not a terrible tour there was not a lot to see that was worth the drive. The cruise ships need to skip Riga as there is not enough there to justify getting off of the boat.
