Well worth the drive there (it's partly gravel roads). The explanations (in English amongst other languages) are excellent, very detailed. My two pre-teens really enjoyed the exhibits. It's also an outdoor museum, which is nice on a sunny day.

We visit this place regullary, but every time we find what to do here, and something new. Most we like visit them on tradional events time.
Here is big outside territory, but a lot of what to inside little houses to, so this place is good on rainy day too.

This museum is located in the national park of Aukstaitija. It is very remote and the nearest town (where we stayed) is about 5 or so kilometers away. We got here by bike through the rugged unpaved roads. I think it was two or three euro to enter, which is very minimal amount to help cover the costs. The wise attendant spent considerable amount of time with us explaining relationships of bees to human paralleling how we should all get along. There is a mini amphitheater towards the back, a very spacious garden with trees to explore and enjoy a panoramic view of this hidden valley. There were also brochures printed in different languages and honey they sold. The guide said the museum takes care of about 70,000 bees with only ONE queen bee. If disturbed, they can actually die. The queen bee can live up to five years and an unhappy one can die in two months. So it is very important that they are not disturbed. The guide’s comparison is that if 70,000 bees can live in harmony, how can humans do the same? True. This place was very interesting. .

This museum is one of the most interesting i have visited in this reagion. It is like a small beekeepers village: small cozy wooden houses are full of interesting and unice expozitions, there are beehaves and near the museum you can buy honey.

The Ancient Beekeeping Museum of Lithuania is a very educational and beautiful place to visit. Full of interesting facts on beekeeping provided by some interactive displays and a very nice nature trail. You'll see more than just bees at this museum! The drive to the museum takes you through the beautiful Lithuanian forest, full of sights, sounds, and the smells of nature. A get place for a family picnic, if you do not mine the bees. There are a few picnic tables there, a small play area, but no refreshments, so plan to bring your own. You can also purchase fresh Lithuania honey on site.

Museum interactive but not to much, exelent audioguides in English, German, Russia languages, plan to spend there half a day

An interesting museum in the middle of forest. Not easy to reach, but worth it. Interesting expositions of bees’ history, some leisure activities.

Second best thing of our Lithuania tour. We almost didn't go. Seemed out of the way. But we had time to kill, so we drove. Do not be discourage. Narrow road through the villages. You think you are lost and then you see first signs for bees. Follow the sighs.
Apparently a place not many tourists wander to, which is a shame.
Museum is well done, bees are buzzing. I am sad that information in English are rare.
Entrance fee is symbolic.
I was so happy we went there.
Oh, and buy the honey, because these bees are in a perfect place to make a good one.

During recent years outdoors exposition and surroundings were reconstructed and in summer of 2019 museum will open renewed inside exposition. Not only you can learn a lot about beekeeping and its traditions, but also take time to relax, there are arbors and hammocks for everyone to enjoy. You can also buy honey in there. Visit museum during their traditional celebrations - Bee day (usually on the 8th of May) or Žolinės (usually on the 15th of August). During celebrations all of honey lovers gather in Beekeeping museum, listen to folk music and enjoy themselves.

This was hard to find, but worth the time trying to find it. It is in a lovely rural setting with a lot of outdoor space with interesting and informative displays.
