Take this review with a pinch of salt as we chose to do Auschwitz and the Salt Mine in one day, which may have been our mistake... Overall, this is an interesting place to visit, and a cool bucket list item, but honestly it's not a must see - it's something to do if you run out of things to... More

This is a defunct salt mine converted to a tourist attraction. It is very taxing, much like a mountain hike, with a lot of stair (climbing down using over 800 narrow steps). You have to walk down though there is lift at the end to take you up. Headset allows you to clearly hear what your guide is saying. The... More

This is an interesting insight into quite an incredible operation that ran for centuries. While the tour was informative and highlighted many amazing features, chapels, carpentry and drainage, among others, it was perhaps a little long winded and somewhat repetitive. This is definitely worth seeing if you have any interest at all, just be prepared for informative endurance!

Lots of stairs to get down into the mine and a tiny lift filled to absolute capacity to come back up but well worth it. Our tour guide spoke very good English and was both interesting and amusing.. We were limited on time at the end of our tour as we had a pre booked package with transport to and... More

This is an amazing place which made the highlight of my visit to Krakow besides Auschwich. We got on the train from the Main Station in Krakow, which is about 15 minutes walk away from the city centre and very easy to go to. Besides the train fare costs only 0.70 Pence (British money). The journey takes about 23 minutes... More

This was one of the most interesting tours I have ever been on! We visited in January so the mines were really quiet and there were only 10 people in our tour group. Our tour guide was really knowledgeable and answered all our questions. Involves a lot of walking and stairs, which we didn't care about, but it may be... More

At start of tour you have to go down about 200 steps on a windy wooden staircase, you need to be fit for this tour. Some fantastic carving and the underground chapels are amazing. Takes a good few hours to go round. At end of tour you need to get in a 4'x4' lift that is so fast its frightening... More

We chose to do the Miners Route based on the reviews from TripAdvisor. It was interesting to see the inside of a salt mine, but all of the "experiences" were really a bit corny. On this route you don't see any of the salt mine creations. Our tour was a group of about 15 people, so not crowded, like I... More

Myself and my 2 friends hopped on a tour here! It was only us and the guide as and this allowed for a very nice tour. I was amazed by the whole mine and particularly the lakes and Chapel all made out of salt. Didn't take any pictures inside as I didn't want to pay the 10 zloty to do... More
