The lake view is worth the walk we took. First we took a bus from Krakow to Zakopane, which is 2 hrs journey. The bus frequency is good from Krakow. From Zakopane station local bus cost 10 ZL / person. If you take a cab (which we did, since we were 4 people & frankly we didn't knew from where... More

If you are Zakopane, one has to keep a day reserved for this paradise. Firstly I suggest you take a bus or a taxi (~100 PLN each way). The walk from the car park is abt 8.5kms each way. The road has an incline. There are two restaurants that come along the way and there are several WC on your... More

Possible for all generations .Lake and mountain scenery are beautifull as everywhere in High Tatras. In the winter vhen lake is frosted you can do ice skating there. We visited and stayed in Zakopane in early September. Having read our guide book we were keen to visit this lake. Setting out from Zakopane before 9am we joined a long queue about 2 miles from the car park. We waited for almost an hour and in the end being about 1/2 from the car park we gave up and... More

It was a kind of struggle to get there - about 9 km up on the hill walking. You can choose to get on the horse drawn wagon (50 PLN) and make it much easier. Anyway, it was worth of it! Fantastic mountain landscapes, fresh air and mount rivers, finally - the lake. Look at it.

The first time I was at Morskie Oko was back in 1973 and have been several times. Today it has become a little more commercialised but the lake itself is as stunning as it has ever been. You can walk up if you fancy the 3 hours or take the horse and cart which takes about 1 hour 15 minutes... More

A beautiful place in the Zakopane area of Poland. It is a 9km walk each way or you can ride in a horse drawn carriage. I went with 2 adults & 4 children. We packed sandwiches and stopped at at a picnic area 40 minutes into the hike. Plan on at least 3 hours if you walk up. There are... More

The area is simply amazing and the lake is breath taking. We went from zakopane to morsie oko by bus for around 20-30mins. From the parking area to the actual lake you can only go by foot or by horse carriage. We used the horse carriage for both way since i hurt my foot and could not walk much. The... More
