If you will ever be in that area, you should visit it. We were there in December and it was beautiful. If you are staying in zakopane, you can take a shuttle bus in front of the train station (there busses every 10-15', but you can always find the schedule on line). The ride costs around 10-12 plns for students... More

Typically we would eschew a horse drawn sleigh up a mountain, but with a child who was not 100% and temperatures colder than -10C, we chose the ponies. The scenery was simply breathtaking, around each bend a new panorama presented itself, and it was stunning! Be prepared, even by sleigh this is 40 minutes to the top. Walking would be... More

We took the horse and sleigh ride up as far as possible, then we left my parents in the cafe whilst we walked up to what is usually a lake, but in the cold weather was actually a bowl of ice! Magical visit over twin and really provided the spirit of the season. The sleigh ride queues were very long... More

Spent around two hours walking up here with a pushchair in the snow! We parked in the car park at the base for 20zl. If you start early this is a great place to start for Rysy summit.

We took the horse ride up to the lake (50zl / person up) - we chose this option because we didn't have the most appropriate clothing for the hiked in snow. After the horse ride, we hiked up a bit to the lake ( took us around 15 mins ) and once we reached the famous lake it was BREATHTAKING!!!... More

As a warning, it is a 10km walk all uphill. Be prepared, this is not easy for casual walker. The scenery was magnificent and the trail is amazing. There is no shop for the first 9km so bring snacks and food in preparation! The cafe served a good hot chocolate and the atmosphere was wonderful. The carriage ride is 40zł... More

The lake view is worth the walk we took. First we took a bus from Krakow to Zakopane, which is 2 hrs journey. The bus frequency is good from Krakow. From Zakopane station local bus cost 10 ZL / person. If you take a cab (which we did, since we were 4 people & frankly we didn't knew from where... More

If you are Zakopane, one has to keep a day reserved for this paradise. Firstly I suggest you take a bus or a taxi (~100 PLN each way). The walk from the car park is abt 8.5kms each way. The road has an incline. There are two restaurants that come along the way and there are several WC on your... More

Went to Morskie-Okoko by bus (from Zakopane station - 30 min ride costs 10zl- bus every 20/30 min). Not gonna lie, it´s a though walking journey till the lake, around 8km climbing - took me 2h30h. Once you arrive in the lake, it´s a great feeling :) it looks like all the energy comes back! You can go around the... More

Possible for all generations .Lake and mountain scenery are beautifull as everywhere in High Tatras. In the winter vhen lake is frosted you can do ice skating there.
