This is the centre of Tavira. People are sitting in the cafes the day long. The Roman Brigde spanns over rio Giljao. The townhall on the other side. The square is used as a theatre. It is here everthing happens

A great plaza area to sit and eat at local restaurants or rest and plan your day. Right by the old Roman bridge connecting north and south Tavira so a great transit point when in search of food or shopping.

The photo is of the Camara or Council House. Opposite are cafes and seats and to the left is an ampitheatre. A place to catch live music and performance.

This is the center of town. If you are lucky like we were there will be events, music town happenings going on. Good place to meet people or people watch. Nice because there are few cars.

Whenever we visit Tavira, there always seems to be something going on in this square, and it's difficult not to pass through it a couple of times day. There are musical events in the summer with the curved steps forming a small amphitheatre. During our...More
