Our visit was in early March. For my taste great for beach walking, but not for swimming or sunning. My wife enjoyed the variety of shells on the beach. Local surf fisherman were active. A nice way to spent 2 hours.

We took a bus and then walked across the bridge to the island beach. There is a small train which seemed to run regularly in March.

We had planned to get the ferry across from Tavira and walk back but unfortunately the ferry was not operating so we walked there and back from Tavira along the EcoVia, visiting Santa Luzia on the way. The train from the island to the beach...More

Tavira island is one of the best beaches in portugal. Walk 200-300 metres down the beach for peace and quiet.. a little bit of paradise.

Wow! A beautiful island which was deserted in December. A haven of peace and quiet in the Winter months. Perfect!

A beautiful wide sandy beach with 2 restaurants and water sports available. The taxi boat leaves from town and takes 10 minutes and cost €3 - €4 return per person. Shady areas with trees and a small children’s play park.

A lovely place which we would thoroughly recommend. The food was excellent and the prices were very reasonable.

Just returned from 2 full weeks in Portugal. Travelled around by car and also visited Tavira, close to border of Spain. Romanian bridge, great restaurants by the canall, life music everywhere. Totally suggest!

I also didn’t notice any seaweed on the beach at Tavira Island. Very clear and warm water when we visited in September.
