Just a short ferry ride from Tavira and you arrive on an amazing beach that could be in the Carribean! Lots of shells so you'll need flip flops but a stunning location. Big waves on the day we were there but still felt safe for...More

You have to take a ferry to this island from Tavira centre or from Quatro Aguas which is a 20 minute minute walk from the centre of town. The trip is only 5-10 minutes long and it is well worth it when you get to...More

Once again, we visited Tavira island, this time in May. The weather was lovely, most of the restaurants were open, but closed early due to the reduced ferry crossings. It was not too busy either. In fact probably my favourite month there so far.

I always walk. 30 minutes. Or there is the mini train (does not always run) or hired bikes - a popular route. Taxi will be cheap, as it's not far. If you walk it can get tiring if a hot day so wear su cream, a hat, and... More

There is always at least one restaurant open. The ferry does not start from the town centre during the winter, but from Quatre Aguas.
