A lovely seven arched Roman Bridge. There are many locked padlocks on the bridge placed there by couples declaring their love for each other.

A nice picturesque bridge that links the two sides of Tavira. Pleasant for a stroll and watching the fish or birds. Shame about the graffiti in places, and the less appealing bridges downstream. You can get a nice photo from the Eastern side looking towards...More

As we walk along the bridge we can admire the light reflecting on the river Gilao water’s in a explosion of colors, as the sunset approaches. From the banks you can admire the architecture and how well it integrates the town.

Loved the walk over this amazing bridge. Places to sit along the bridge and music to listen to. What more could you want. Not to be missed.

Lovely old atmospheric bridge that joins the two parts of Tavira town. Lots of nice areas to sit. The river area is very good for birdwatching.

In many ways, the ‘Roman Bridge’ is a focal point in Tavira. A popular attraction for visitors with warm atmosphere created by local buskers and street entertainers. Not to be missed as an iconic photo opportunity.

This bridge is possibly one of the main attractions in Tavira. It was built by the romans and links one side of Tavira to the other. It is very romantic by night with the silhouette palm trees reflecting in the river. I live here and...More

Well preserved ancient bridge connecting both sides of the town. Good ice cream just at the east end of the bridge.
