Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It is a simple-looking church, serving the local community. Although simple, and some my rate it lower, I have difficulty rating any House of god, no matter what the religion, as being below Excellent.

A quiet peaceful place to visit, especially if there is a cruise ship in port!! They have a very interesting leaflet which tells you about the history of the Church and burials etc.. A fascinating place.

I always love visiting churches. This one is small, cozy and very inviting. Very well preserved considering it's age.

Faith is always different for all of us. We sought solitude and solace, praying for those at the coal face of this treacherous pandemic with the hope for all of us as well as those hurting that a flicker of light will guide us through or light our way home.

Beautiful little church leaves its door open in a trusting welcome to passers-by who come in to enjoy its peaceful atmosphere and maybe say a prayer or two (optional). Thank you to the parish who make this oasis open to the public.

Visited on Wednesday 25th April. We did not go inside as the building had revovation working going on and appeared to be closed when we were there. This will definately be on our list of places to see when we come back to Akaroa again.

We visited this lovely little church during a shore day from a Carnival Cruise. I saw a note on the jetty as I came of the tender that Mass was at 12 noon. This was a lovely experience, Fr Paul G Shannahan, has the 12 noon time on cruise ship days! The views are beautiful out over the bay.
