Having traveled on the ferry from Wellington we were pleasantly surprised at the beauty of this little village. There is a wide variety of restaurants and a beautiful waterfront. The village is not very big so you can explore the whole area for under an hour. We enjoyed watching the families enjoy the park and water.

Stayed overnight to catch the ferry to Wellington. A beautiful and tranquil part of the world. Stunning natural beauty with low density accommodation to complement the natural beauty. Great little shopping centre with a large supermarket and lots of eateries to pick from.

We had the most awesome day in Picton. We hired a car from Hertz and drove to Blenheim which is only 30mins away. We called into a fantastic winery Wither Hills. We bought 4 bottles of lovely wine to drink on board. You are charged a corkage fee but it is worth it. We then drove to Omaka Aviation Heritage... More

We cruised into Picton on a large cruise ship and spent the day in there. It was a beautiful day - the population of 4000 people was overrun by thousands of crew ship passengers. The local highland band played and walked down the Main Street. It is a beautiful town with very friendly people, lovely beach area and good walks.

Always just passed through picton but decided to stay this time. Lovely setting, great walks from picton. Nice promenade and things to keep children happy. Lots of tours go from marina. Plenty to do. Not many good restaurants but will stay there again as didn't get to do everything. Can even take tour of wineries from and combine with cruise.

Picton is in a perfect location being surrounded by the incredible landscape of the Marlborough Sounds. Picton is incredibly picturesque and when the weather was good we often sat along the promenade to take in the views. The town itself is laid back with quite a lot to do but we found it to be an expensive place so we... More

Not much to do here but walking. (Good thing I like walking!) cute little town... but anything more than a few days would be too many. Friendly locals

Ok, having never visited New Zealand, I had no idea that Picton existed, but a cruise on the "Ovation of the Seas" mega ship was about to change my opinion of the land of the long white yawn, particularly a visit to the sleepy, but remarkably beautiful Picton. This enchanting little village is a Mecca for wreck divers, the gateway... More
