Goldie is the name of our boutique vineyard on beautiful Waiheke Island. Here we create character wines that draw on the knowledge and experience of Kim and Jeanette Goldwater who founded winegrowing on Waiheke Island in the 1970’s and produced iconic wines from this vineyard over many decades. We host The Goldie Room Vineyard Cafe, The Tasting Room, and the University of Auckland Goldwater Wine Science Center and are a fabulous venue for your wedding, conference or special event.

We visited Goldie Estate while on a hop-on-hop-off bus tour of Waiheke. The walk up the drive was somewhat challenging, and once inside we stood in line for at least ten minutes before the hostess could break free to serve us. The wine tasting is overpriced, as is the wine, Based on this experience we will not likely return nor... More

Although it was pouring rain, we went for a tasting here. Very accommodating. They brought a table up from the restaurant which was closed due to flooding. Lovely cheese platter and exceptionally fresh and full wines in the tasting. Beautiful big old original trees on the property.

We've been to Goldie a few times and recently returned with friends to try their picnic lunch. The food was lovely and more than ample for two people. It is nice to sit under the big tree and relax for an hour. However, to buy a bottle of wine is twice or three times the price compared to taking one... More

We have been coming to the Goldie Room now called Goldie Estate for a number of years and always come back at least once a year. The picnic hamper is very reasonable and great value for money (it fed 3 of us with food leftover). The staff know their wines and can recommend a great bottle to match your taste... More

I work in a winery in Australia we charge$5 tasting and our customers can try any of our wines they wish, and we give them their money back if they buy something. Here we were charged $10 for 4 wines and no refund on purchase. This happens at many wineries on Waiheke, and has pretty much brought a halt to... More

As we approached the vineyard, a beautiful red headed student was waiting to welcome us. She explained the gift of the vineyard to the University of Auckland by the the Gold family and how it is now run by students and the teaching faculty. There is no restaurant but a nice lounge where we sample their unique wine with an... More

This was our favorite of the three wineries we visited on the island. The setting is beautiful and the guide was very informative. Great wines. Make sure you hike to the top of the hill for a great panoramic view.

Excellent wines and lovely location. The service was fantastic and friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed this winery and spent a couple of hours feasting on a lovely platter and tasting our way through their range. They have deli to choose your platter items as well as a lovely range of white and red wines. You should wander up to the oak... More
