Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A great place to have a seat and relax and take the culture in! It's close to many souvenir stores and an awesome ice cream store nearby.

The tour guide gave us a history lesson and then we moved on to the next monument. I love the views into the Cuban history.

The square and the street leading up to it are the main tourist areas in Hoguin. (That and the hill of the cross) Around the square are a few interesting restaurants and shops and a museum. The square itself has benches and some shade to get out of the sun. It is a popular area for both tourists and locals. There is a bus that comes from Guardavalaca to that area of Holguin and I believe there are a few more museums close by. We stopped at the park as part of a tour and it was a good place to get a beer and sit in the shade.
Locals will try to sell you things (peanuts, cigars, etc.) Or ask for money so be prepared.

We were there Jan 3rd which was the anniversary of Fidel's first passage as leader Jan 3rd 1959, so we were witnesses of a parade to celebrate his victory 59 years ago.
