Traveling from Copper Center to Denali NP on a sunny Sunday AM. Spring saw an early breakup with lots of flooding. The scenery is terrific. Lots of moose, caribou, and porcupines (big ones.) Not much population on this road. Wanted to drive the Denali HWY...More

Clearly I had not done the research needed before we left out. We thought we could easily drive the Richardson Highway from Anchorage to Fairbanks in 5-6 hours, but this was not the case. Luckily, we had a little wiggle room in our plans, so...More

We drove the Richardson Highway over multiple days between Valdez and Fairbanks. It's a nice scenic drive, especially the southern parts before crossing the Alaska Range. Driving north, we found the following were nice places to stop: - Mile 13: Keystone Canyon: make sure to...More

We drove from Fairbanks to Glennallen and this stretch of drive was not as spectacular as I expected. We got a gloomy day so it might have bad effects on the view. Before reaching Delta Junction, there was nothing special. We stopped at Santa Clause...More

Drove from Anchorage to Fairbanks this week via the Richardson Highway. Breathtaking views and moose sightings abound. Stopped to take many pictures so the drive took all day but that was our plan. Highly recommend.

We were lucky as the weather was fantastic! We saw moose, caribou, eagles and lots more. The mountains are just stunning and the highway is very good. This is a must (as is the Denali Highway) if you visit Alaska. Simply superb!
