We had planned to visit Drake's Beach on our visit to the Point Reyes National Seashore. Unfortunately they are doing construction on the road to the beach and it is closed to vehicular traffic.

Tremendous views from the top of the trail. Elephant seals and tule elk. Beautiful vistas. Beautiful drive to beach, rolling green hills and dairies.

This beach is certainly off the beaten path and the drive here through old abandoned ranches is well worth the time. There is plenty of parking as this place doesn't get a lot of visitors especially in Spring and Fall or during the week. There...More

We love Drakes Beach. The towering cliffs, energetic waves, broad beach, one of our favorites. Parking and access are easy and the scenery on the way there is calming and interesting. Visited on Sunday of Labor Day weekend, got there early and very few people...More
