The main trail takes you on short , beautiful 1 mile hike, by dozens of Giant Sequoias. Most people just take that hike and trail, and are unaware that most of the trees are on other loop trails accessed at the nearby campground where there...More

Very few large trees, roads may be difficult for city drivers. Visit the groves in Yosemite instead, they have larger trees and better access. Sequoias have shallow roots, so don't stand near them or you'll kill a 2,000 year old wonder.

This is a less-travelled attraction which was really nice considering the busy-ness of other attractions in the area. The sequioas are fantastic, the trails well-marked, and the information brilliant. You really need a 4x4 or pickup with high ground clearance to get to all the...More

Beautiful forest scenery to explore and discover the giant redwoods. The road here is very rough, do not attempt to drive here in a small city car.

We stayed in Ahwahnee and it was definitely worth the drive. Our 4 year old walked the whole trail. Bring bug spray and a camera!

Challenging drive winding up a mountain to reach the area. The signs are not clear as to where the groves are. Trails are not well marked either. Finally saw Sequoias on a hike within a forest area. Certainly not what I would consider a grove...More

This area is absolutely beautiful! We were able to see beautiful sequoia trees. You won't believe how huge these trees are.

Since Mariposa Grove is closed for renovation until Spring 2017, this is a good alternative for those who don't want to hike too much. It's accessible via a road (the last bit is dirt) and the 1-mile loop is not strenuous. My 85-year-old mom did...More

We stopped by this grove on the way back to the Fresno airport. It is about a half hour outside of Oakhurst. Hike is easy with just a few mildly steep parts. I did it with boots on but good athletic shoes would suffice. We...More

I loved the Nelder Grove. My family visited the Yosemite area for the first time last week and we were all excited to see the giant sequoia trees. Unfortunately for us, the Mariposa Grove in Yosemite is closed for renovations until spring 2017. I stated...More
