Compared to the nearby Colton House this is a bit disappointing. Only two or three rooms and many items are "modern representations". Probably a good place - for a school history trip?

Once upon a time, while Spain and Mexico still controlled this part of California, this was where the passing ships were required to stop and pay (or give supplies and merchandise to) the local administrators. Amazingly, it has endured over time.
