The KBT has been on my bucket list for many years. We visited all 9 distilleries, got our passports stamped and picked up our shirts. We spent 7 days visiting the distilleries and exploring the beautiful KY countryside. The people we met along the way were the most friendly folks we have met in all of our travels. We toured... Unfortunately Louisville was having a festival of some sort and traffic was a mess, so we missed the two distilleries there and headed to Bardstown. We saw the remainder and our favorites were Makers Mark and Jim Beam. JB has a nice barbecue shack for lunch, so MM in the am, followed by lunch at JB, and then their tour... More

Not a bourbon drinker but went with friends. The distilleries did an outstanding job educating the tours on both the history and the process of making bourbon. We visited 7 distilleries in 3 days. Could have stayed longer.

We had a group of 6 people and two days to see what we could do. With most distilleries opening late and closing early it is difficult to get a lot done in a day. We managed to visit 11 in two days. Of those 11 we did four tours. Most places would not give you a tasting without participating... More

When we decided to travel the Bourbon Trail we thought it was similar to wine trails in that you go to the distillery and taste. Not the case. In order to taste you need to take a tour which is usually 60 - 90 minutes. There are just so many tours you can take with the same information. The tours... More

Two couples touring the Kentucky bourbon Trail. First, go to the web site, KentuckyBourbonTrail.com. Get the map, plan on at least 4 days to see them all. We started from Frankfort, visited Wild Turkey, Four Roses ( they were doing some construction so an abbreviated tour) and then Woodford Reserve. Don't miss Woodford Reserve, in fact, make it the first... More

To appease a friend who loves hard liquor my wife and I agreed to join him and his wife for a 2 day weekend on the Bourbon Trail. Much to my surprise, I LOVED the experience. Buffalo Trace was our first stop and the most informative tour. If at all possible you must ask for FREDY. This guy is a... More

Fun trip, easily followed with the map. Beautiful countryside and a good learning experience about bourbon making & KY history. We went to the 9 distilleries on the our and a few smaller along the way. Each has a unique setting and story, very informative, friendly and much enjoyed. The only disappointment was we worked so hard to obtain our... More

Had a fabulous weekend on the Bourbon Trail. Learned so much, drank just enough and ate waaaaayyyy too much. Amazing food and drinks. Friendly people everywhere we went. Can't wait to visit again.

One of my best experiences ever! This was a solo trip, three days to complete the Bourbon Trail and visit other distilleries not on the "Trail". My advice, plan, plan, plan. I started 3 weeks out, looking at the "can't miss" distilleries, booking the appropriate tours on line (some have several different types). Be careful to not prejudge some of... More
