Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What a beautiful part of the world with people to match! There is so much to see and do and the seafood is amazing. We toured galleries and weird and wonderful things such as the Blueberry museum.

It was a beautiful drive. We stopped at a few beaches and a fort. We will be back when we have more time.

Just follow the road ~ it will lead you to forts, amazing restaurants , L.L.Bean and most importantly all the Maine Lighthouses on the coast.

Spend the money to rent a car and drive the state. Maine is not that big (compared to Texas where I am from) the shoreline is breath-taking and seemingly endless. The quaint towns you drive through are comfortable and welcoming. Take the time!

The drive up the Maine Coastline was awesome with breathtaking views! Don’t be in a hurry! There is so much to enjoy! We drove from Bar Harbor to Portland. We enjoyed small towns full of shops and amazing seafood all along the way. All the lobster rolls we could eat and lighthouses everywhere! We would find our way off the beaten path and find ourselves back out by the water or exploring the sidewalks of another old harbor town. So many treasures and so many great places to stop and see. Give yourself plenty of time to enjoy Acadia National Park. Our visit was timed for the Fall foliage. The coastal highway did not disappoint. It’s was the trip of a lifetime!

I was disappointed by the price inflation of gas, food, and everything along the route. Many miles between gas stations, so they got ya.

this is by far the best way to travel North from the area around Portland,Me.if you go RT 95 it is just such a boor. I love all the small villages and towns and it makes the time go by just so fast and great places like Moody's diner to top and eat. They have I think the worlds best liver and onions.Did I hear a moan.If you like it,you will love it hear. However all the foods they serve are great. do not miss the blueberry pie. Or the peanut butter cheescake.
everyone who had it just loved it. Go to their gift shop.very Neat, next door. Go to Reds for lobster rolls.or across the way they say that is very good. we just went by Reds and there was aprox 100 people in line.Maybe more.People were taking pictures of the people waiting in line.

We made the right choice by taking the coastal highway for our trip. We had no itinerary so we were able to leisurely check out the coastal towns on our way up through Maine. Very relaxing & beautiful!

I have always wanted to take this trip. It is definitely pleasant but be aware it is not all along the water. You will need to drive out into the peninsulas in order to see the quaint towns. Two lane most of the way but the drive was nice.
