WMNF VISIT DURING FOLIAGE SEASON
Oct 2020
En route to North Conway and points north, I made a short detour to drive on the Kancamagus Highway, to visit Albany Bridge, and trek a bit in the White Mountain National Forest.

The Kanc cuts through parts of the White Mountain National Forest, so I saw some of it as I drove to the Albany Bridge and then on the far side of the Albany Bridge when I trekked a bit on the Boulder Loop.

My impression is that it is a well-managed forest.

I rate my experience in the White Mountain National Forest at 5.0.

A Stunning National Forest, Especially at Peak Foliage
Oct 2020
My husband and I visited White Mountain National Forest this week for some pandemic-safe hiking because we heard it was forecasted to be peak foliage. We were so glad we did because the scenery was breathtaking, featuring all the gorgeous colors of autumn. There were tons of beautiful overlooks to stop at and a diverse selection of trails. We decided to hike the Champney Falls Trail and it was a lovely trail that followed the brook through the leaves to the waterfall.

This Forest is definitely a must-see in Autumn!

Beautiful National Forest
Jul 2020
The White Mountains are a must see if you live in New England or tristate area. A few hours drive is totally worth it to see the natural beauty. It’s a great place all year long spring and summer for hiking, fall for foliage, and winter for skiing.

A must go to place any time of year - and take an extra SD Card

Make sure you stock at the ranger station at park entrance and get a parking permit as well as map of all thing things to stop and see. This park is well maintained and a must see. Take your camera and plan at least a day.
Fall colors or breath taking, rivers and streams, historic home - covered bridge - hikes, all are must take time to do! Wear some good for hiking shoes. You will be glad you did. Many areas are handicap accessable, but would recommend helpers.

If you like nature - you will LOVE this park. Don't just drive through it.....take your time and look and explore.

Visited in Early October. Great weather, great views, beautiful Fall foliage. That said, was very disappointed when we got back to the car from taking a few photos at Otter Rock to see an envelope on the windshield.Seems that I was fined five dollars for ? Not having the correct change or checkbook, I went to the visitor center to pay the "fee / fine" Looked again, and still didnt see where a permit for stopping, parking, or taking photos was required. Eventually paid the fine. There was a dozen cars in the parking lot. Mine and another visitor from England were the only ones tagged.

Kancamagus Highway is STUNNING
Oct 2019
An absolute MUST DO especially during Autumn! The drive is scenic and you're going to want to stop every 5 minutes to soak in the beauty! Along the highway there are places to stop, waterfalls, and hiking trails! We highly recommend doing the drive on this highway, it certainly will not disappoint!

A beautiful mountain with good trails all over and water fall.Nicely maintained mountain area all over but lots of traffic jams because of the two lane road and weekend rush.A must watch place.

Beautiful
Oct 2019 • Couples
We drove through this area the first week of October and it was beautiful. We stopped at the welcome center in Lincoln which was very nice. Folks at the National Park service were great to point and suggest things to see along the Kancamagus hwy. We stopped several places along the highway for waterfalls, cover bridge and short hikes.

Breath Taking views, nice intermediate level, hiking as well as easy trails and more difficult ones for the pros! Best part was the treat along some of the hikes like Waterfalls. Highly recommended.
