We were travelling from Albuquerque to Raton and decided not to go I25 all the way and instead went up to Taos and through Cimarron. The road through the forest is very pretty and it was much nicer than driving on the interstate.

My husband and I were here for one night tent camping. The area for the tents was beautiful but the sites are a bit close together. The highway is really close BUT the river that runs right by it drowns out most of that noise...More

We stopped by to hike. Very beautiful and plenty of areas to camp. Lots of brooks and wildlife. Clean and safe.

This is a great place to go hiking and relax. I took my dog there and was able to let him off the leash to get some energy out - no one for miles!

This a small campground 2 miles west of Red River, NM. on highway 38. It has 22 combined rv and tent sites. Many of which are right on the river. Large rv's will probably feel squeezed in here. There are fire pits, water and a...More

If I could give this campground 0 stars, I would. The reason my family, friends, and I were so dissatisfied was a direct result of the hosts. Dennis, the male host, approached a friend of ours in an irate, threatening manner and screamed at her,...More

11 mile loop hike with a gain of 3.8K feet. You definitely feel the gain to just over 12,000 ft. A beautiful trail with many creek crossings, some forest, some meadows, and some spectacular views. A fairly well-maintained trail - you need to watch your...More

Hiked and geocached along the Elliot Barker Trail in Carson National Forest. Just minutes away from Angel Fire this national forest offers absolutely breathtaking views. This trail also connects to Apache Pass, which is a great hike.
